We are three friends who love to cook and eat. We thought it would be fun to collaborate on a food blog. When we first met we all lived in Edmonton, Canada.

Jean Poutine: Edmonton AB. I like homey, unpretentious food best. Also Hawkins’ Cheezies and root beer.

King Crabby: Victoria BC. I love food in general whether it is pretentious or not, however, mainly I love simple food. I collect cookbooks, mainly ones from places I have travelled or secondhand ones from organizations like churches and community groups. I hate convenience foods like kraft singles and so-called convenience cooking. If I am going to “cook” by putting together a bunch of prepackaged things, I might as well just buy a prepackaged meal. I am also addicted to trying new restaurants in Edmonton.

Truly Scrumptious: Edmonton AB & Bacon Cove NL. My favorite food is home-cooked meals made with home-grown produce. I also like potlucks, church suppers, and family-run and regional restaurants. There are very few foods that I don’t like, except processed, packaged food, which really isn’t food.  Especially if it has the words “food” or “edible” on the package. That type of reassurance is not reassuring.
